The most exciting leadership training tool in the Assemblies of God! PDSOM (PennDel School of Ministry) is a district-sponsored and district-operated ministerial training program, birthed in 2017. It enables people to complete the educational requirements of the Fellowship for credentialing. It also provides a learning forum for the laity interested in increasing biblical and doctrinal knowledge and developing ministry skills.
PDSOM offers two components of education:
ONE YEAR BIBLE INSTITUTE
The Bible Institute track is a one-year program for students who that want to deepen their understanding of the Word. It's designed for laypeople or anyone that wants to educate themselves more on the Bible. It does not go towards getting your Credentials. If you're interested in pursuing those, the PennDel School of Ministry Credentialing track is the desired track to sign-up for.
PDSOM CREDENTIALING TRACK
PDSOM features live instruction at four convenient locations in the district and require a minimum of five hours of classroom instruction and an exam per course. Prior to class time, students must read the textbook and answer related study questions. Consider the benefits: convenience, affordability, and training by educated and experienced church leaders, perspectives, and questions shared in a classroom filled with students who have years (often decades) of experience with churches and ministry in the same district. There are networking opportunities with district leaders and fellow ministers, and motivation to complete coursework in time for scheduled dates.
Individuals seeking the finest education and training available for ministry within the Assemblies of God are encouraged by both the General Council and all districts to pursue excellence at an AG college or university. Additionally, correspondence and online training are offered through the convenient Global University/Berean partnership which makes essential ministry education available to virtually everyone!
A third route is now available through District Schools of Ministry, known as DSOM. DSOM is a district-sponsored and district-operated ministerial training program that enables persons to complete the educational requirements of the Fellowship for credentialing. It also provides a learning forum for the laity interested in increasing biblical and doctrinal knowledge and developing ministry skills.
PDSOM features live instruction at SIX campus.
